SMARTech energy sees increase in ESOS demand before compliance deadline of 5th December 2019
The Wiltshire based energy management and reduction specialist has recently seen a surge in the number of companies seeking to implement the government backed Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS).
The SCISYS Group, Honda Trading Europe, Airsprung Group and Beard Construction are just some of the organisations who have recently signed up for the mandatory energy assessment scheme – which encourages large organisations to save energy and money through energy efficiency.
EU Energy Efficiency Drive
Launched in 2014, ESOS is a compulsory energy assessment scheme and is the UK Government’s response to the implementation of Article 8 of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive.
As an approved ESOS Lead Assessor, SMARTech energy have identified significant energy savings for their clients who are working through the ESOS process.
SCISYS Become ESOS Compliant
A recent compliance report for SCISYS, a leading developer of information and communications technology, identified energy savings and reduction opportunities of more than 29%; making the case for ESOS not only good for compliance, but a good opportunity to reduce an organisation’s overall energy costs.
ESOS Phase 2
Now in its second phase, MD of SMARTech energy puts the recent surge in compliance down to the looming deadline of 5th December 2019 and adds “There has been a huge shift in the understanding and benefits of ESOS and we’re finding that more and more eligible companies are viewing the process as a means of fulfilling both compliance, CSR commitments and financial objectives”.
As leaders in the provision of specialist commercial services, SMARTech energy can deliver recommended measures through the design, installation and servicing of major building systems – such as heating and cooling, ventilation and lighting projects.
ESOS affects organisations who employ at least 250 people and those that employ less than 250 people – but who achieve an annual turnover in excess of €50m and an annual balance sheet in excess of €43m.
